Lindi our qualified Nutritional Therapist has shared her Immune boosting smoothie to help prevent & support colds.

Ingredients

1/2 avocado
1 TBSP chopped up ginger
1 tsp Turmeric
handful spinach
1/2 cup pineapple
1 small orange
1 tsp sunflower seed or any nut butter
1 scoop protein powder
top up with water
Blend all together and enjoy (the avocado and nut butter helps make it creamy and delicious – get the kids to have some too!)

Full of Vitamin C, anti-inflammatory/antioxidant/immune boosting properties, protein and of course healthy fats.

Turmeric is the main active ingredient which has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.

Pineapple contains high amounts of Vitamin C as well as Manganese which is important for antioxidant defenses as well as high amounts of Thiamine (B Vitamin) which is involved in the production of energy.

Ginger can help lower the risk of infections due to the bio active substance Gingerol found in fresh ginger.
